Chalfont St Peter Community Centre

A community centre and pre-school designed during my time at Architype Architects, a civic project quite different in scale from the residential work I do now, but one that's shaped how I think about material honesty and daylight. Timber cladding and an exposed timber roof structure run through the building, from the entrance and foyer to a performance space with tiered seating, giving the interior the same warmth as the timber facade outside.

It's included here to show the range of scale I've worked at, from a single garden grill to a full public building. The same underlying approach to material, light and how a space actually gets used carries through both.
